What We Can Do For You

Ecommerce-Retail

Shipment cost is what acquires a major part of your costs in eCommerce. Reducing costs, availing you with early COD, maximum serviceable pin codes and reducing shipment TAT are our USP.

Managing Logistics is the greatest challenge for any eCommerce company especially in a country like India with a vast territory. With the advancements in eCommerce, even the logistics industry is witnessing innovation and implementing technological support to cater to such high demands.

And now it is possible for online buyers to track their consignment from the date of dispatch from the factory or warehouse till its’ delivery at the consignee’s address. The task of delivering shipments becomes even more strenuous during weather disturbances such as rainy season or when extensive areas get flooded and many bridges are damaged.

Before the advent of the eCommerce industry, retailers sourced goods either from manufacturers or distributors. And now that we have a plethora of online shopping stores, the intermediaries cease to exist, leading to deals directly done between the supplier and end-user: C&F (clearing and forwarding agents), distributors, dealers, and retailers have no role in this direct selling process.

With these intermediaries removed, eCommerce shipping has become an essential part of the supply chain management and emerged as a highly specialized service with the majority of them being managed by eCommerce companies themselves.

Logistics is a congregation of various processes such as inventory management, warehousing, packaging, labeling, billing, shipping, payment collection, return, and exchange. All these put together turn into an exigent task, that requires a full-proof strategy to be accomplished. Apart with these, logistics also requires thorough knowledge about territories, roads and road conditions, regulations regarding the movement of goods, and transport laws. The principal purpose of creating a logistics unit is much to deliver parcels much faster, safer, and more accurately.

How eCommerce Logistics Works

A logistics company functions in two directions:

  • Forward Direction – Distribution and delivery of goods to buyers.
  • Reverse Direction – Exchanging or replacement of defective, damaged or wrong shipments.

India to add more indicators to Logistics Ease Across Different States index

The central government of India is reportedly planning to add more indicators such as rail and road connectivity, railway track and highway length, average speeds, the performance of toll roads, and number and capacity of warehouse facilities to its Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS) index.

“The index is currently based on parameters such as infrastructure, services, safety of cargo, timeliness, track and trace,” said the Economic Times report.

The first two editions of the LEADS index had ranked Gujarat number one. The state facilitation and coordination, and efficiency of regulatory processes, are also considered in the index at present.

Average lead of cargo in rail, road connectivity and capacity as measured by the length of state highways, district and rural roads and warehousing capacity of FCI, Central Warehousing Corporation and State Warehousing Corporation are the proposed new criteria.

FedEx Express selected as one of best workplaces in India for women

FedEx Express has been recognised in the top 50 best workplaces in India for women, by the Great Place to Work Institute.

The study is one of India’s largest annual assessments of workplace excellence for women across all levels and is based on confidential employee feedback and an audit of management processes. This year, more than 850 organizations participated in the survey conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute in India, from which the top 100 workplaces for women were selected and recognized.

Mohamad Sayegh, vice president of operations for FedEx Express in India, said, “We are honoured to be recognized as one of India’s best workplaces for women, highlighting our diverse and inclusive work environment where all team members have equal opportunities to excel and grow.

“Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is an integral part of our culture, and we continuously work to promote qualified women into leadership roles and offer programs that help our team members explore possibilities in their careers. We foster a diverse workplace that supports long term development and provides meaningful opportunities to our team members to pursue both personal and professional goals,” he added.

Earlier this year, Jack Muhs, regional president for the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa region, signed the CEO statement of support for the ‘Women’s Empowerment Principles – Equality means Business’. Established by the United Nations Global Compact and United Nations Women, the Women’s Empowerment Principles are a set of seven actions that companies choose to adopt to advance gender equality in the workplace and community.

FedEx was named by Forbes Magazine in 2019 as one of the Best Employers for Diversity globally and was also recognized as one of the top 100 companies to work for in India by the Great Place to Work Institute in June 2020.
